Moving forward with Douglas

It is offficial!!  Book 2 in the Blind Traveler series, Blind Traveler’s Blues, has a publisher…Echelon Press LLC!!!  Thank you Karen Syed!  Blues will be coming out in Ebook format on an as-of-yet unknown date.  Both Douglas and I are happy about this.  Actually we are ecstatic.  It’s taken a very long time to find a publisher for Blues, but the wait was well worth it.

Neither Douglas nor I like the idea of killing trees, and we both are technophiles.  Yep, we both love finding out about and using new technologies.  In fact, I may at some point be giving Douglas Abledan a new set of eyes to replace his navigator device.  I know, the navigator has allowed our hero to “stumble on” and solve a couple of crimes that the cops ignored.  But, the other day a friend of mine was telling me about a woman she heard about who has “bionic” eyes.  Apparently this woman had some kind of disease which necessitated the removal of both of her natural eyes.  Fortunately medical science has advanced to the point that in some rare cases “upgrades” can be made to a disabled body to allow a person to regain their sight.

Hmm, I wonder how Douglas would react to this.  I wonder how he would deal with regaining what he had lost.  Surely, just as he had to do when he lost his sight, he would have to go through a period of adjustment.  I doubt that bionic eyes would function the same way fleshy eyes do.  Would the world look different through bionic eyes?  Maybe one day Douglas will find out.

Comments welcome, dear readers.
